Hello again,

Have you ever seen any very old books and thought to yourself “I’d sure like to have that in my library…that would really be cool!” Well here’s one of those type of books and an auction just for you!

WP Auctions

1926 Jewish World Almanac

Thank you for taking a few moments to peruse our auctions today. Your time is very valuable, so I'll try my best to give you an accurate, good and complete description of this Rare and Antique 1926 Jewish World Almanac.

Today, we have a complete and full copy of the <srtong>Jewish World Almanac...1926 Edition. This book was published by Verlag "Wecker" according to the outer cover and Farlag "Wecker" being the name on the title page(page 1). Both claim the address as 175 East Broadway, New York, N.Y.

The vast majority of this Jewish Almanac is in Yiddish or Hebrew, with some of the advertisments, the title and publishers name being in English.

D. Shub is listed as the Editor. The title page or page 1, lists the title as The Jewish World Almanac A Year Book of Valuable Information, Chronology and Statistics.

This Almanac is 400 pages + the "outer" cover or "wrapper", which has advertisments on the insides. The front ad is for International Union Bank, at Fifth Avenue and Twenty-First Street. Even in 1926, the ad states "Member Federal Reserve System."

The condition of the book is fair to good, considering it is a paperback and the age.

The inner pages are all intact and in very good condition. I couldn't find any pencil or ink markings on them, and they are all still very flexible.

The cover or wrapper is very stiff and has some tearing on the corners. The lower left corner is torn and bent or "bumped" up to page 23. The bumping does not affect any text at all. The tear on the front cover does affect a very small portion of the frame around the ad for International Union Bank. The front cover also has a fold from top to bottom and both covers are soiled.

The spine is in a bit of a fragile state, and I've tried to show this in it's photograph.

If you would like larger, more detailed photos, please contact me (with 1926 Jewish World Almanac as the subject line) with your request and a valid email address. I'll send you a link to a special page with the much larger photos on it for your inspection.

Standard shipping is $3.50 to anywhere in the U.S. (via U.S.P.S.), although other options are available. Insured, overnight, FedEx, UPS...We'll work with you on whatever your preference is. If you are outside of the U.S., please add $13.50 for standard shipping.

Current Bid - Bid Now - $29.95

Refresh Current Bid

Ending Date - 2009-08-07 21:46:14

Shipping - $3.50

Ships to - World Wide

 Location - Denver, Colorado U.S.A.

Auction closed

Payment Details

Acceptable payment options

PayPal

Seller prefers to use PayPal

Alternate Payment Method

Bank transfer - Details provided to auction winner

We’ve started another auction! This one is for the book “Bless Your Dirty Heart.”

WP Auctions

Bless Your Dirty Heart

This is a 205 pg. paperback book written by Reverend Hubert Lindsey and Edited by Howard G. Earl. Published by Logos International, Plainfield, N.J., with a copyright date of July 1972 and the ISBN is 0-88270-017.

This book is in very good condition (I would consider it very good to excellent) with some minor rubbing and bumping on the covers.

From the back cover; "Of all the dissent-torn, revolution-racked campuses in the U.S., none is so turbulent as the University of California at Berkeley. Any kid with romantic notions of becoming a revolutionary activist thinks of Berkeley as his Mecca, and every year thousands make their pilgrimage there, most not as students, just to be 'where it's at.'"

"In the past six years, 'Holy Hubert,' as they dubbed him, has been beaten senseless, kicked, mocked, and spat upon countless times for his belief, yet his spirit remains undaunted, and perhaps his greatest witness is the degree to which he truly loves his enemy, 'Bless his dirty heart.'"

As you can imagine, this book is a fantastic read and a remarkable testimony of those that think of themselves as "progressive" and "tolerant." Interesting, very interesting.

Other than a "return to" in the front, there are no marks, tears, folds or anything that would be considered a problem on the pages.

If you have any questions, please post them as a comment on the blog under the "Bless Your Dirty Heart" post, and we'll get an answer for you as soon as possible.

Please add $3.50 for S & H within the United States and $9.50 outside of the U.S., for shipping via the Postal Service.

Current Bid - Bid Now - $3.95

Refresh Current Bid

Ending Date - 2009-07-23 17:33:52

Shipping - $3.50

Ships to - United States

 Location - Denver, Colorado

Auction closed

Payment Details

Acceptable payment options

PayPal

Seller prefers to use PayPal

Alternate Payment Method

Bank transfer - Details provided to auction winner
