Psalm 107 (KJV)
23 Those who go down to the sea in ships,
Who do business on great waters;
24 They have seen the works of the LORD,
And His wonders in the deep.
25 For He spoke and raised up a stormy wind,
Which lifted up the waves of the sea.
26 They rose up to the heavens, they went down to the depths;
Their soul melted away in their misery.
27 They reeled and staggered like a drunken man,
And were at their wits’ end.
28 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble,
And He brought them out of their distresses.
29 He caused the storm to be still,
So that the waves of the sea were hushed.
30 Then they were glad because they were quiet,
So He guided them to their desired haven.
31 Let them give thanks to the LORD for His lovingkindness,
And for His wonders to the sons of men!

Psalm 91
By Steve Countryman

This is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible. When read as written the message lists God’s promises that gives the reader a hope and a future. You can read this chapter from your Bible as a prayer out loud for someone who is sick or ill by inserting their name where the Bible has the word “you” and “him”. It will boost your faith and trust in the Lord as you hear yourself proclaim God’s will. The other morning I read it as a prayer inserting my name in it. Then I took it one step higher and read it with my name inserted while addressing it as a NOW word. When you read it as a NOW word you bring the future into the NOW and it empowers your faith! Read this out-loud and inset your name where it says to. Do this over and over again and you will see what I mean.

1 I dwell in the shelter of the Most High

and I rest in the shadow of you Almighty God.

2 I, (your name) say of you LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress,

my God, in whom I trust.”

3 Surely you have saved me

from the fowler’s snare

and from the deadly pestilence.

4 You O Lord cover me with your feathers,

and under your wings I find my refuge;

your faithfulness is my shield and rampart.

5 I do not fear the terror of night,

nor the arrow that flies by day,

6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,

nor the plague that destroys at midday.

7 A thousand have fallen at my side,

ten thousand at my right hand,

but it does not come near me.

8 I only observe with my eyes

and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 I declare, “The Lord is my refuge,”

and I make the Most High my dwelling,

10 so no harm overtakes me,

no disaster comes near my home.

11 For you O Lord command your angels concerning me

to guard me in all my ways;

12 they lift me up in their hands,

so that I do not strike my foot against a stone.

13I tread on the lion and the cobra;

I trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 “Because, (your name), loves me,” says the LORD, “I rescue him/her;

I protect (your name), for he/she acknowledges my name.

15 (Your name), calls on me, and I answer him/her;

I am with, (your Name), in trouble,

I deliver him/her and honor him/her.

16 With long life I satisfy, (your name),

and have shown him/her my salvation.”

Amen!!

God showed me in verse 7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you refers to ALL catastrophes. I, like everyone else, have always read that verse as though it only pertains to apocalyptic type of events ie nuclear, germ warfare and plagues. I never thought of it as pertaining to ALL disasters. For example; there are two families who live in their homes. One family doesn’t have any insurance and loses their home in a tornado, totally destroyed. The other family loses their home to foreclosure. Both families had a catastrophic event happen to them. One definition of the word catastrophe is “a momentous tragic event ranging from extreme misfortune to utter overthrow or ruin.” We have all witnessed “ten(s) thousand at your right hand” of foreclosures. God’s economy is not affected by this world’s economy, the stock market or the price of gold. God’s economy is always solid and those you walk in God’s Word and in His path will not be affected by this world’s economy “will not come near you”! God’s blessings and promises are for our total being body, mind, soul, spirit, relationships and finances.

My name is Steve and I was born and raised in a good Christian home in Phoenix Arizona. Now I’m living in God’s country of the north eastern part of the state. In the cool pines of the White Mountains with my beautiful wife of 37 years,Gina.

A psalm of David.
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.

“Oh, that mankind would praise the Lord for His goodness and for His wonderful works to the children of men!”

Even though…

We rebelled against the words of God.

We were bound in affliction and sins.

We despised the counsel of the Most High.

We hated all manner of His sustenance.

We drew near to the gates of death.

We were at our wits end.

We were brought low through affliction, oppression and sorrow.

Despite all this…

His mercy endures for ever.

He redeemed us from the enemy.

He delivered us from hunger, thirst, and despair.

He leads us in the right path.

He satisfies the longing soul.

He fills the hungry soul with goodness.

He brings us out of darkness.

He brought us from the shadow of death.

He broke our chains asunder.

He sent his word and healed us.

He calms the angry seas and storms.

He keeps affliction away.

He watches over us like a shepherd.

Whoever is wise and will see these things, they shall understand the loving kindness of the Lord!

“God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.

How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.

Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.

Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.

They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.”

Father, our poor, needy and fatherless cry out to you as they continue to be afflicted by unjust mandates and decisions. We pray you will recompense them with your righteous judgment and relieve their oppression. The powers you have granted to our nation’s judges and guardians are abusive and neglectful. Convict the hearts of those who rule unjustly and have mercy upon them as they return again to your ways of justice. Arise, O Lord, and hear our prayer. Amen

By There is no time to be blind anymore, let’s be awakened!

Friends please read the following Psalm and let it speak to you:

The King Rejoices in the LORD’s Strength

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.

21:1 O LORD, in your strength the king rejoices,

and in your salvation how greatly he exults!

2 You have given him his heart’s desire

and have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah

3 For you meet him with rich blessings;

you set a crown of fine gold upon his head.

4 He asked life of you; you gave it to him,

length of days forever and ever.

5 His glory is great through your salvation;

splendor and majesty you bestow on him.

6 For you make him most blessed forever; [1]

you make him glad with the joy of your presence.

7 For the king trusts in the LORD,

and through the steadfast love of the Most High he shall not be moved.

8 Your hand will find out all your enemies;

your right hand will find out those who hate you.

9 You will make them as a blazing oven

when you appear.

The LORD will swallow them up in his wrath,

and fire will consume them.

10 You will destroy their descendants from the earth,

and their offspring from among the children of man.

11 Though they plan evil against you,

though they devise mischief, they will not succeed.

12 For you will put them to flight;

you will aim at their faces with your bows.

13 Be exalted, O LORD, in your strength!

We will sing and praise your power.

“AWAKEN YOUR PEOPLE O GOD, FOR WE ARE STILL ASLEEP! SEND FORTH YOUR HOLY SPIRIT AND AWAKEN US. THANK YOU AMEN.”
