Learning Hebrew Over the Last 10 Years
In 1990, I was planning a trip to Israel, but it got postponed due to Desert Storm and the Gulf War. I finally go on a tour trip of Israel in 1996. But in the late 80s, in Oklahoma, before the internet, how does one begin to learn Hebrew?
There wasn’t any internet yet. I ordered the famous, or infamous, FSI course. FSI stands for the Foreign Service Institute. These are courses created by the US government, supposedly used to teach military and/or diplomats. (more…)
Engraved upon the palms of God’s Hands
Engraved upon the palms of God’s Hands
By Okwudili Umeweni
What a wonderful sleep I was having that cold morning of December, years ago in the small room I shared with my friend off campus. The compound had no fence but it contained close to fifty rooms similar to mine, all filled with students except for a mother and her newly born baby.
All of a sudden, I was awoken by a scream let out by a neighbor. I got up from my bed and the clock said some minutes past 1a.m. The screaming repeated itself. Now it was followed by a hush from a bolder voice. (more…)

The Works of LeRoy Ramirez, Gabriel’s Prophecy, Part 5 of 8

The Spirit of Antichrist
All scripture is for all time and some is pointedly so. The warnings from God to the priests of ancient Israel are as meaningful today as then. All of Israel suffered when the priesthood sinned because priests were entrusted to minister the power of God for the people. Today, followers of Jesus compose a “royal priesthood” with each individual appointed a high priest enabled with the power of God. (1 Peter 2:9) Jesus entrusts the church, as a royal priesthood, with the power of his Spirit to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God. (more…)

The Vision
The vision given Daniel was for his time and a time to come. Likewise, the vision given to John was for his time and a time to come. Today, the vision is for our time and a time to come. Further the visions and their times are connected. (more…)

Perhaps the most well-known Jewish prayer is the “Shema”. This prayer is recited twice per day (morning and evening). The prayer is translated as “Hear Israel”, and refers to the entire verse “Hear O Israel, the Lord Thy God, the Lord is One.” (more…)
How “At Home with Hebrew” was Created

Back in 1994, I first began to learn Hebrew. Most books were just too difficult; for example, I ordered the “Foreign Service Institute” course. It taught the entire alphabet on one page, then jumped into complex lessons with no vowels. (more…)

Praising God By Derek Dill
All of the world should praise God. He is good. He shows great mercy and kindness toward us, and His mercy is everlasting. His truth endures to all generations.
The world owes God a great deal of gratitude. He created us, put us on a beautiful planet which He also created, and gives us a chance to enjoy His creations. God also gives us the opportunity to have a personal relationship with Him, through His Son and our Savior, Jesus Christ. (more…)

If I was to mention the island of Puna to you I wonder if you would know where it is? Well it is part of Ecuador and at one time the only people that lived there was aboriginal people. Nowadays the local population is comprised of children, but very poor children with no shoes to wear and with very little by way of medication to take care of them when they fall ill, which they often do because of the many flies which carry diseases. The Nativity

One mile from Bethlehem is a little plain, in which, under a grove of olives, stands the bare and neglected chapel known by the name of “The Angel to the Shepherds.” It is built over the traditional site of the fields where, in the beautiful language of St. Luke–”there were shepherds keeping watch over their flock by night, when, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them,” and to their happy ears were uttered the good tidings of great joy, that unto them was born that day in the city of David a Savior, which was Christ the Lord. Giving of thanks
Several months ago, I was preparing for a Sunday sermon on thanksgiving. The Lord brought to my attention the Samaritan leper’s thanksgiving recorded in Luke 17 verses 11 to 19. This is a very familiar story among Christians. The story goes like this, there were 10 Samaritan lepers who asked Jesus for mercy. Jesus told them to show themselves to the priest. While going there, they found out that they were healed. Sadly, only one of them came back to thank Jesus. (more…)
How much is your love for me ?

Those words could be said by lovers in this month of hearts. However such words were not said by one lover to another, rather they were uttered by our Lord Jesus Christ as written in John chapter 21 verses 15 to 17.
Most Christians know about this story. Regrettably only a few really understand the meaning of what Christ said because of their failure to look closely at the words that Jesus Christ used. (more…)

Wisdom lifts up her voice. Do we hear her: “Many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.” She is greater than fine diamonds. Have we desired her: “He brings low the mighty and exalts the lowly.” By her judges rule and kings reign. Have we discovered her: “He must increase, but I must decrease.” Consider wisdom: (more…)
