Sabbath Or Sunday?
The Sabbath is declared to be the seventh day of the week in the Ten Commandments. Exodus 20:8-11 states: “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore, the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.” (more…)
A Heart With A Mind Of Its Own
By Dale Linton
The heart is an amazing spiritual mechanism. We know this because God has one and we are created in His likeness. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit our heart may be led into purity, but under its own control it is extremely dangerous. Our creator hasn’t left us in the dark concerning what we must know about our heart. Lets see:
Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Our Christ
Our Christ
By beatrice ofwona
Jesus Christ died for us all no matter whom or what we are. His death was motivated by God’s love for us that He sent His only begotten Son to die for our sins. His death was the reconciliation we needed to God. (more…)
A Purpose For You
“Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying: Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1: 4-5 (NKJV)

Many of us are familiar with the miracles, sermons, parables, and prophetical utterances, but what about a simple narrative study and comparison of a few selected citations which might cause you to ask a few questions; thereby doing some follow-up research.

The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham.
NOTE: Who would be the most interested in a genealogical introduction?
Matthew 1: 12-16
And after the deportation to Babylon, to Jeconiah was born Shealtiel; and to Shealtiel, Zerubbabel; and to Zerubbabel was born Abiud; and to Abiud, Eliakim; and to Eliakim, Azor; and to Azor was born Zadok; and to Zadok, Achim; and to Achim, Eliud; and to Eliud was born Eleazar; and to Eleazar, Matthan; and to Matthan, Jacob; and to Jacob was born Joseph the husband of Mary, by whom was born Jesus, who is called the “Christ.” (more…)

I just wanted to let everyone know that we are now hosting our own auctions here on The Holy Story.com.
Our first auction is for the History of Gospel Music by Jesse Burt and Duane Allen (of the Oak Ridge Boys).
To place your bid, go to Holy Story Auctions under the site header on the left side, and click on the “Bid Now” link.
Here is the description to help you make a decision about this book.
This is a 205 pg. paperback book written by Jesse Burt and Duane Allen. Inside front cover is signed “Duane” in Black Marker. Published by K & S Press Inc., Nashville, Tn., with a copyright date of July 1971 by Silverline Music Co., Inc..
This book is in pretty good condition (I would consider it very good to excellent) with some minor rubbing on the front cover and the bottom is “bumped” a little.
The back cover contains mini-biographies of both authors, with Duane’s stating he is “lead singer Oak Ridge Boys” and a Grammy Award winner 1971, along with the Dove awards 1968-70.
Jesse’s bio tells us that he is a Tennessean, graduated from Harvard & Vanderbilt with a Doctorate in U. S. History.
Other than the Author’s Signature in the front, there are no marks, tears, folds or anything that would be considered a problem on the pages.
If you have any questions, please post them as a comment on the blog under The History of Gospel Music post, and we’ll get an answer for you as soon as possible.
Oh, I’ll get a couple of photos of the book on here in the next day or so, I’m having a slight camera problem at the moment.
Shipping for this book is $3.50 anywhere in the U.S. and $13.50 to anywhere else in the world, via the United States Postal System and your countries system. Other shipping arrangements are possible…just contact us and we’ll figure out the costs involved to get this wonderful book in your hands and library.

One mile from Bethlehem is a little plain, in which, under a grove of olives, stands the bare and neglected chapel known by the name of “The Angel to the Shepherds.” It is built over the traditional site of the fields where, in the beautiful language of St. Luke–”there were shepherds keeping watch over their flock by night, when, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them,” and to their happy ears were uttered the good tidings of great joy, that unto them was born that day in the city of David a Savior, which was Christ the Lord. We Reign In Life By Receiving From God
by Roger and Eileen Himes
Copyright 2006 Roger and Eileen Himes
Jesus talks a lot about ‘overcoming’ in life. This side of the cross, we are told that we overcome by receiving from God. The New Testament talks a lot about receiving from God. The Old Testament was just the opposite. It was one of giving to God: obedience by keeping the law, and by repentance, and by sacrifice and offerings. But in the New Testament things changed. As Paul says ‘all things became new’ (II Cor 5:17). (more…)
What do you think?
Like me, I am sure that there has been a time when you may have questioned your belief. I have questioned my beliefs many times, especially when I see the things that are happening in the world today. (more…)
