Newness

By Emily Chimpanzi

Joel 3:18 And it will come to pass in that day that the mountains will shall drip with new (sweet) wine, The hills shall flow with milk, and all the brooks of Judah shall be flooded with water; a fountain shall flow (BURST FORTH) from the house of the Lord and water the valley of Acacias (Hebrew valley of Shittim)

As life bursts forth, from the pits of my belly, I feel a strange stirring up, a strange awakening, a strange arising! In all corridors of my spirit I hear a strong, bold uproar echoing all over my body saying ARISEMOVE AND RECOGNISE. A strong affirmation of where each footstep is to make a mark. Captivated by sights seen in the invisible, screams heard in the inaudible I sense a complete change of atmosphere, an empowering beyond the physical..

He calls it new wine, sweet wine, fresh juice. Flowing down to the sun parched valleys, the cracked river banksa gush of the sweet anointing has been let loose. It comes with a new command and a new demand on my ability; to stand still, as the river of life flows over me, with its sweet living water. Slowly I watch and feel as from glory to glory He passes over me, first ankle deep, then up to my knees then my waist, wait a minuteI seem to hear Him cautioning me to swim, I can’t stand any more, His living water has captivated even my body.

Am in the deep end, but am not drowning, I seem to be empowered, almost like am floating effortlesslywait a minuteam in so deep yet my arms seem to be motion less, I am swept away by the current of faith, as I look up I see objects, gasping for air like fish left washed out after a flood on the lake shore, awaiting a wave strong enough to catapult them back into this river. As my flow gets closer I realize they are men, humans gasping, holding on, with what seems like the last ounce of air and into the river of life I catapult them offering healing and restoration for their tired lungsThe draught is over they scream and sigh with relief. Newness of life has been imparted into them!

I look at the trees around me, suddenly they seem evergreen, feeding from the newness of life offered by this flowing river full of living water they bear fruit, fruit that defies nature’s laws, fruit that is ever present sustained by the abundance of life in the river, their leaves never wither in and out of season. My mind is blown, it started with a drip from the mountains, from the sanctuary all of a sudden its spread, it’s healed, and it’s restored! Dead trees are alive and bear fruit, those once gasping for air are filled with praise, and surely the brooks of Judah are flooded!

Married to my bestfriend Frank, I love to write as an expression or an overflow of the truths that flow in my spirit as fruits of my relationship with Jesus!
