Luke 9: 23: Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.

This passage is for all of us because we are all called to be His disciples and follow Him. The greater the cross you carry for Jesus the greater the reward we will receive in Heaven and on earth. The reward is mostly spiritual rewards that advance the Kingdom of God. I look forwarded to Christ coming again and that He put the end to all suffering here on earth. But we must help Him. God wants to save as many souls as possible. There are people in this world that have experience hell and have recorded it throughout history.

It is a place we do not want anybody to go, especially ourselves and those we love. If we do not pick up our cross and follow Jesus we cannot go to Heaven. Heaven is forever and so is hell. Jesus said ‘if the world hates me it is going to hate you.’ The truth has been watered down in many of our churches. The word of God has power, if you water the truth down there is no power. God is not present in lies. You notice people we love and admire are people who courageously obey all God’s teachings. They are strong and they have pick up their crosses and followed Jesus. People like Corrie ten Boom had been strengthen in faith, hope and love because her and her family took a stand to obey Jesus not counting the cost.

Their testimony meant something because of the hardship they endure for God. The more we are willing to suffer for God the more powerful our prayers are, and the more good we are able to do, because God will bless us. We are moving into a time in history where hatred is escalating because people do not know God, they do know what love is. They are filled with demons of hatred, pride, jealousy, greed and spiritual laziness. In the book of Revelations it is written the time will become so dark that Jesus ask will He find faith. Jesus tells us we have to pray for perseverance. Do not take for granted that your faith is strong enough, because it is not. Only through Christ we are saved and we have to pray every day to be ready when Christ comes for us and do as He did. He is our example and to follow Him is not just to be kind and good, but to be prepared to pick up our cross and follow Him daily. Christ words are not always popular they are not always words we want to hear, but they are words that lead us to eternal life if we obey.

I believe that Christian don’t often think just how powerful their prayers can be, so they pray for small things and only for people they know. I believe in praying big because I know God wants to do great things through us.
