God’s Promises for Difficult Times
By Frank King
I believe most if not everyone who reads this article will agree that we are living in difficult times. God does not exempt us from being tested just because we are Christians. But He has given us promises in His Word to give us inner peace and to serve as an anchor for our soul during difficult times.
It’s hard to ignore it when we are going through a difficult time. That’s because we feel the weight of the test. We may know what the Bible says about God’s faithfulness during those times in our life, but we tend to focus more on the agony of the test than on the consolation of God’s promises. So in this article, let me share several of God’s promises that we should bear in mind when we are tested: (more…)
The Mid-Week Rapture #24
By Karl Kemp
Holy Father, we humble our hearts before you. We want to understand your word, and we want to live in line with your word. We want to be fully ready to stand before you at the end of this age. We pray in Jesus’ mighty, holy name! Amen!
I’ll always quote from the “New American Standard Bible,” 1995 edition unless otherwise noted. When I quote from my book, “The Mid-Week Rapture,” it uses the 1977 edition. (more…)

Just Praise Him
Just Praise Him
By Steve Countryman
I know it sounds so simple, just praise Him. Lately I needed reminding of that phrase. I had been told it before and had heard confirmation on it, how you are to praise God in the storm. In the middle of your troubles, trials, circumstances, problems, headaches, sorrow, grief, despair, depression and anger just praise God. While going through some things lately, I found myself praying over the same issues. I know that we are not to keep praying and repeating ourselves in our prayers like the heathens do, but the Bible also says to be diligent and persistent in your prayers like the widow before the unjust judge. Keep in mind that you are responsible for your own conduct, character and situations regardless how you ended up there. (more…)
The Mid-Week Rapture #15
By Karl Kemp
I’ll read from the New American Standard Bible, 1995 edition, unless I mention otherwise. Sometimes I make comments in the middle of quotations using brackets [ ] or [[ ]] to make them more obvious.
Holy Father, we humble our hearts before you. We want to understand your Word, including end-time prophecy, and we want to live in line with your Word, by your sufficient grace. We thank you for full salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ. We pray in His mighty name. Amen! (more…)
The Bible in Everyday Life: Pride and Humility
The Bible in Everyday Life: Pride and Humility
By Hugh Houchin
In the culture of today’s world, pride is often seen as character strength, while humility is a character weakness. However, in the Bible 1Peter 5: 5 says, “You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” (more…)
The Fruit of the Spirit
By Dave Ingram
Galatians 5:22-23 lists the fruit of the spirit as “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. In the Bible, the word “fruit” is frequently used to refer to the results of someone’s labor, behavior or attitudes. Thus, the fruit of the spirit consists of those traits which manifest themselves in believers’ lives as a result of leading a Spirit-filled life and continually seeking after God. In John 16:7-15, Jesus explains that He is about to send His Holy Spirit as an advocate and guide to the believers until Jesus’ return. Guided by the Holy Spirit, each of our lives can begin to display all nine characteristics of the fruit of the spirit. (more…)
Lust
By Jerry Ousley
Easton’s Bible Dictionary defines lust as being “Sinful longing; the inward sin which leads to falling away from God.” It also says, “Lust, the origin of sin, has its place in the heart, not of necessity, but because it is the center of all moral forces and impulses and of spiritual activity.” In other words, lust isn’t some strong physically necessary reaction but comes first from within the heart of man the seat of our soul. We are not compelled to do it naturally but it must be given thought and then put into action. (more…)
He Saw Me
He Saw Me
In John 1:45-51, Jesus met a man named Nathanael. He knew Nathanael before they met. He saw Nathanael. There are many verses in the bible that tell us of the foreknowledge of God;
Acts 2:23- Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
Romans 8:29- For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. (more…)
The Bible
The Bible
By Michael Hume
Opening my bible is like entering a portal into another dimension. Instantly I am transported to heaven, and my worldly worries and cares dissipate as I read more and more. By about 20 pages God has refreshed me at least, and at most done a lot more, and spoken to me with key specific verses targetting responses to my situations.
Reading the bible is like gazing at Gods face. You are quietly launched into His realm, presence and way of thinking and being. This is so far removed from the world’s ways and therefore most refreshing, and quite a relief. (more…)
The Law of Moses was given through the administration of angels
Posted in: bible studies Tags: angels, bible, bible studies, Christ, christian, Christianity, commandments, israel, Judaism, lord, Torah, worship
It is commonly believed that the Law [Torah], which is the foundation stone of Judaism and indirectly, Christianity, was given to Moses on fiery, Mount Sinai came from God; but in actuality it came through the administration of the angels of God. Of course, it is believed that these commandments, statutes and ordinances were directed by God Himself and therefore were obligatory for the children of Israel to observe and practice in the worship of their LORD. Jonah
By Jerry Ousley
Other than the short book of four chapters there is only one other place in the Bible in which we read of Jonah. Of course Jesus mentioned him in the books of Matthew and Luke using him as an example of His own death and resurrection. He said that just as Jonah was three days and nights in the stomach of the fish so He would be in death, in my own words.
As far as the history of Jonah we read about him in the book that bears his name and also in 2 Kings 14:25 which tells us that he prophesied of the restoration of the territory of Israel from the entering of Hamath to the Sea of the Arabah, meaning from the northern border next to Syria to the Dead Sea. Taking the Sword of the Spirit
By Rick King
July31, 2011
Are we taking up the sword of the spirit or our sword? There is truly a difference.
Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
In the above passage the words say the sword of the spirit. We have been taught that the Bible is the sword of the spirit. This is true but this has a twist to it that if you do not grasp, then you will not walk in power. This is the spirit’s sword, not ours. The Bible tells us that: (more…)

Read It, Believe It, Live It
By Steve Countryman
The Holy Bible has been around for over three millennia. It was written over a 1500-year period by 40 authors ranging from every walk of life including kings, peasants, shepherds, philosophers, fishermen, poets, statesmen, scholars, etc., and written in different locations. God’s Word doesn’t contradict itself. The Old Testament foretells of the coming of Christ. The New Testament tells of His birth through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. It tells how we are to live, believe and act as children of the Most High God. It tells of what was, is and is yet to come and how we will all live in eternity. Through centuries of transcribing, translating into over 2100 languages and found on every continent on the planet, the integrity of the Holy Bible stands as the most accurately reproduced piece of literature ever written.
