Excerpts From My Paper, “Verse-by-Verse Studies Of Selected Prophecies From The Book Of Jeremiah,” Part 3
By Karl Kemp
We will continue the verse-by-verse study of Jeremiah chapter 30, starting at verse 12, then we will go on to a verse-by-verse study of Jeremiah chapter 31.
I want to repeat what I said at the beginning of Jeremiah chapter 30: This chapter is very important, so I didn’t want to skip it here, but the format used here (without my being able to use bold lettering for the verses that we are studying, or footnotes, italics, etc. may make it a little difficult to read for some readers. For one thing I had quite a few footnotes in the original paper, and I get into a lot of details. If you prefer you can go to my website and read this chapter (or the entire paper) in a format where I was able to use bold lettering, footnotes, italics, etc. (more…)
Knowing Our God Given Purpose; No Ordinary Knowledge
By Dale Linton
Knowledge that is derived from truth that feeds our spirit; which is our source of life, is referred to as “the bread of life”.
John 6:47, 48 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
I am that bread of life.
John 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
Our tendency, as Christians, is to feel as if we already have a “full knowledge” of truth, when the reality is that we may have only experienced truth in an “introductory phase” of God given knowledge. This is exemplified extremely well in the story of Nicodemus. (more…)
THE OBSCURE TEACHINGS OF PAUL
So the early Christian church was divided into two “camps”, unlike today. The followers of Jesus, led by his brother James, in one that took the very Jewish message to the Jews and the diaspora of Israel, proselyting Gentiles on the way; whereas Paul carried a very simple message of the Christ to the Gentiles and accepting Jews..no special observance of the Law, no circumcision, no special keeping of the sabbath, no concern for “unclean” food..making it easier for Gentiles to accept his teaching. The Mid-Week Rapture #24
By Karl Kemp
Holy Father, we humble our hearts before you. We want to understand your word, and we want to live in line with your word. We want to be fully ready to stand before you at the end of this age. We pray in Jesus’ mighty, holy name! Amen!
I’ll always quote from the “New American Standard Bible,” 1995 edition unless otherwise noted. When I quote from my book, “The Mid-Week Rapture,” it uses the 1977 edition. (more…)
Bible Heroes: Who am I?
Bible Heroes: Who am I?

My name means “peace” but I am known for my great wisdom as well. I followed my father’s footsteps and became king of Israel after him. One of my greatest accomplishments was building the first Temple to the God of Israel in Jerusalem. (more…)
A New Creation IN Christ
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new”! (2Cor 5:17). But the New Creation is ONLY In Christ, nowhere else, and we MUST BEHOLD IT! From being found In Him, as Paul said in Philippians, we have Good News. In Him there IS Good News. The verse I am thinking of is Isaiah 52:7, “How beautiful upon the mountain… .” (more…)
THE CONVERTED SINNER
Some two miles from the village on a road that wound in among the hills stood a great white house. It was beautifully situated upon a gentle slope facing the south, and overlooking a most charming landscape.
Away in the distance, a mountain lifted itself against the clear blue sky. At its base rolled a broad, deep river. Nestling down in a valley that intervened, reposed the charming little village with its neat cottages, white church, little red school house and one or two mansions that told of wealth. Here and there in the distance a pond was visible; while farm houses and humbler dwellings dotted the picture in every direction. (more…)
The Ten Commandments
By Dave Ingram
The ten commandments given to Israel by God in the book of Exodus stand out among many ancient codes of law as a set of governing principles that have stood the test of time. The ten commandments have done more to influence the tenants of government around and societal norms across the globe than any other body of law. A study of the ten commandments can reveal much to modern readers about the way humanity is meant to function in a perfect world. (more…)
Christians or Disciples?
By Sandor Balog
No wonder that some present-day Christians sincerely striving to be followers of Jesus have become fed up with being made to feel guilty by non-Christians and anti-Christians alike for all the sins that have been committed in the name of Christianity over nearly two millennia. The best way for them to avoid being permanently accused of what they have never committed is to clearly distance themselves from what has stuck to Christianity over the past nearly two thousand years. They could simply abandon using the notions Christian and Christianity and identify themselves otherwise. I recommend using the term “Disciple”. If, for clarity, they, in certain instances, wish to differentiate themselves from Jesus’ first century disciples, they could call themselves “modern-day disciples”. (more…)
He Saw Me
He Saw Me
In John 1:45-51, Jesus met a man named Nathanael. He knew Nathanael before they met. He saw Nathanael. There are many verses in the bible that tell us of the foreknowledge of God;
Acts 2:23- Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
Romans 8:29- For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. (more…)
The Wielding
Delilah manipulated her man and he unwittingly succumbed to her powers of persuasion. As I recall the saga of Samson and Delilah, I pity the poor man. The vamp duped him and he paid a steep price for imbibing on the fruits of passion. God’s chosen never learned to say no when temptation lured him onto paths the sanctified should never trod.
I do not believe Delilah’s den is where the story began with “Once upon a time” Scriptures reveal that our leading man once held great promise. God set him apart, as holy, a peculiar person. Vows of a Nazarite included no cutting of his locks or drinking fruit of the vine. (Judges 13:5-7) He came from a godly home and knew both the demands and blessings of his call. (more…)
Why Did God Create Satan Knowing What He Would Do?
By Greg Baker
As a pastor, I get asked, quite often actually, why God created a devil if He knew all the evil Satan would do. A corresponding question is why did God create the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil? After all, if God hadn’t created the tree, then Adam and Eve couldn’t have sinned! This article attempts to give a logical and rational explanation to these questions. (more…)
The Law of Moses was given through the administration of angels
Posted in: bible studies Tags: angels, bible, bible studies, Christ, christian, Christianity, commandments, israel, Judaism, lord, Torah, worship
It is commonly believed that the Law [Torah], which is the foundation stone of Judaism and indirectly, Christianity, was given to Moses on fiery, Mount Sinai came from God; but in actuality it came through the administration of the angels of God. Of course, it is believed that these commandments, statutes and ordinances were directed by God Himself and therefore were obligatory for the children of Israel to observe and practice in the worship of their LORD. The Thessalonians’ Case
It is clear from the book of Acts (chapter 17); that the birth of the Thessalonians’ church was not a piece of cake, the apostle encountered rejection and persecution, and this is due to the jealous Jews .The power of the Jews in that city was in a sort like their power today in the field of Media (in USA), as we read they stirred up the crowds against the apostles, they even caused Paul and his fellow workers to flee to Berea. It is certainly clear that this church was born “persecuted” and linked with afflictions, and from the first letter to the Thessalonians; we can notice easily that the church in Thessalonica suffered mainly from their countrymen, and not from the Jews (1Thess. 2: 14) as the apostle had suffered before, but we can understand from the context of Acts 17 that they (the Jews) were the first cause of this persecution (Acts 17:8). Any way this persecution seems to be continuing as far as we know- to the day Paul sent them his second letter (nearly by the year 51-52 A.C.) which I would like in this article to explore the first seven verses of it. (more…)
The Spirit against the flesh
The Spirit against the flesh
Galatians 5:17 tells us that the Spirit is against the flesh. They are contrary to one another and we are sometimes unable to do what God wants us to do. Paul said in Romans 7:21,22- I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: Our inward man wants to do God’s will. What can tip the balance? How do we overcome our old self that is contrary to the will of God? (more…)
