Thanksgiving for the year that was
Thanksgiving for the year that was
By beatrice ofwona
Thanking God all the time is a prerequisite of the Christian prayer life. Philippians 4:6-7 educates us on this, ‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God’. When we do this then a further promise is made in the verse that follows, ‘And the peace of God that transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus’. We should therefore thank God at all times, in good and in bad situations; in good because He is once again blessing us and in bad because He is growing us in faith. (more…)

A New Creation IN Christ
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new”! (2Cor 5:17). But the New Creation is ONLY In Christ, nowhere else, and we MUST BEHOLD IT! From being found In Him, as Paul said in Philippians, we have Good News. In Him there IS Good News. The verse I am thinking of is Isaiah 52:7, “How beautiful upon the mountain… .” (more…)
Accessing God
God is willing and available to explain our circumstances to us if we are willing to listen to Him. One such example in Scripture can be seen in Job 42 when the Lord finally appears and ministers to Job. We can see a conversation going on here. It is awesome to imagine that this great God, this omniscient presence, this Mighty one, is willing to listen to us. He is not averse to intellectually engaging us; in Isaiah 1:18 He invites us further, “Come now, let us reason together”, says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow, though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool”. Through Christ, our God is willing to listen to what is in our hearts and also forgive us our sins. (more…)
Get Your Head On Straight!
1 Corinthians 2:16 But we have the mind of Christ. Ephesians 5:1-2 1 Be mitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children 2and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Putting on the mind of Christ and being imitators of Christ is a daily decision for us Christians. This is not an easy task for you have to discard your past identity so that you can now identify with Christ. (more…)
Words
Proverbs 18:21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Ephesians 4:29-32 29Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Christianity A Confusing Amalgam Of Beliefs?
By Sandor Balog
Christianity today seems to have lost its real meaning. Countless churches and denominations claim to be the only true followers of Jesus. Are any of them worth joining?
In my view, if a church or denomination wants to be a true follower of Christ, first of all it must get rid of all traditions that have their roots in Pagan customs and habits like Easter and Christmas. It should clearly distance itself from such non-Scriptural legends, theories and beliefs, as the Holy Grail, the Trinity and Saints and condemn all sins committed by or in the name of the Church throughout history, such as the Crusades, the Mediaeval Inquisition, the Church’s involvement in warfare etc. As a next step, it must free itself from the bondage of Jewish customs and traditions. Christians or Disciples?
By Sandor Balog
No wonder that some present-day Christians sincerely striving to be followers of Jesus have become fed up with being made to feel guilty by non-Christians and anti-Christians alike for all the sins that have been committed in the name of Christianity over nearly two millennia. The best way for them to avoid being permanently accused of what they have never committed is to clearly distance themselves from what has stuck to Christianity over the past nearly two thousand years. They could simply abandon using the notions Christian and Christianity and identify themselves otherwise. I recommend using the term “Disciple”. If, for clarity, they, in certain instances, wish to differentiate themselves from Jesus’ first century disciples, they could call themselves “modern-day disciples”. (more…)
Knowing The Unknowable God
By Rabon Byrd
If you were to ask any believer if they desired to know the Lord in a greater and deeper way, I would guarantee that all would answer in the affirmative. Therefore, I do not believe that lack of desire to know Christ is the leading reason for the evident lack of spiritual knowledge in the Church. Many will say that it is due to indifferent Christians who are not trying hard enough and not putting enough effort toward knowing the Lord. In my opinion, lack of desire to know Christ does not account for the lack of knowledge in the Body of Christ, but the means by which they endeavor to achieve such knowledge. (more…)
The Law of Moses was given through the administration of angels
Posted in: bible studies Tags: angels, bible, bible studies, Christ, christian, Christianity, commandments, israel, Judaism, lord, Torah, worship
It is commonly believed that the Law [Torah], which is the foundation stone of Judaism and indirectly, Christianity, was given to Moses on fiery, Mount Sinai came from God; but in actuality it came through the administration of the angels of God. Of course, it is believed that these commandments, statutes and ordinances were directed by God Himself and therefore were obligatory for the children of Israel to observe and practice in the worship of their LORD. Miracle Lightning Strike!
By BILL HUNT
Can you witness to someone who speaks another language? Dark haired and dark eyed, this striking uniformed woman entered the crowded gift shop in Central Florida. The Hebrew on her uniform told me she was a traveling Israeli Army officer. An elderly American couple accompanied her. When I greeted the strangers by the impulse of the Holy Spirit, the elderly Christian woman explained she personally never took the opportunity to witness Christ to her Hebrew friend. They met her in Israel. (more…)
RESPONSE TO THE JEHOVAH WITNESSES TEACHING ON BEING BORN AGAIN
RESPONSE TO THE JEHOVAH WITNESSES TEACHING ON BEING BORN AGAIN
By Jeremiah opusunju
1. The Jehovah witnesses preach that believers do not need to be born again to inherit the kingdom of God on earth. During this dispensation of grace, this teaching is a perversion of the gospel of Christ.
Jesus Christ said that no one will see or enter into the kingdom of God (whether in heaven or on earth) during the dispensation of grace (the period of the gospel of Christ) without being born again (John 1:9-13; 3:3-19; 1Peter 2:13; Galatians 1:6-9). (more…)

The Parable of the 10 Virgins – a Warning to Christians in the Last Days
By Robert Hawes
Among the teachings of Jesus, the parable of the 10 Virgins, found in Matthew chapter 25, ranks as one of the most grave. In it, the Lord presents a warning, namely that some of those who set out with the best of intentions to find the kingdom of God will not enter it, but will find themselves turned away in the end. As such, this is not a teaching that we can afford to misunderstand. (more…)
Through Me
“I praise you Father for all of the wonderful things that you do and what you choose to do through me today!” It is not all about me and what I can do but what God can do through me. Getting your eyes off of yourself and your selfish desires and wants and focussing on what God wants to do through you that impacts people and life around you. It starts as a daily attitude that you wrap your mind around every morning. How does your day start? Do spend some time with God in the morning to help start your day off right? Just as you would prepare for an important interview or presentation you should prepare yourself to meet the day head on as one who “is more than a conquer”. Putting on the mindset of Christ every morning is how you adjust your attitude. (more…)
