When The Levees Break

Been thinking about levees today and the devastation which can be created by the failure of such protective structures. Years back I flew over Missouri after a series of storms caused a flooding of the Mississippi river. Had Been…vs….Am Now

We all know this is a question Jesus asked of his disciples and it’s interesting to dig into the depth of why and what our Lord was asking. A friend spoke out something this weekend that awakened this verse in my heart. She merely mentioned the difference in who I had been versus who I was now. Jesus came in the form of man to live life as we do, and once baptized in the power of the Holy Spirit, he walked in signs and wonders. His word says”I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” John 14:12 (more…)

‘In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back. The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle. Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under his wings. Day and night they never stop saying: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.” Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. I Am A Future Resident Of Heaven

A young Christian woman lay on an examination table, she was just diagnosed with a terminal illness, and she was determined to not be afraid of dying. She closed her eyes and imagined what it would be like to meet God face to face. An older couple lay awake; they just found out there retirement money was stolen by a greedy bank executive. Handling Our Internal Resistance to Truth

There is a wonderful story that illustrates the advice Jesus gave His followers when He sent them out to tell people the good news – the news that the Kingdom of God is within. It’s about a struggle between the Wind and the Sun, about who was the most powerful. The Wind thought he was stronger because of his destructive might in twisters, hurricanes, sand storms, and electric storms. Moody Press, which boasts of being, “The Name You Can Trust,” is an alleged Christian publishing house. As such, they pride themselves in publishing books that are true to scripture, Christ and His gospel. Multitudes worldwide, however, who rest their eternal hopes on the teaching published by “The Name You Can Trust” might be shocked to find that Moody Press should not be trusted. (more…)
