To Believe or not to Believe?

Firstly, we should consider the Old Testament (OT) as God’s account of the origin of the earth, life on earth and of the universe. The OT tells us about original sin, God’s judgment and His scheme for salvation to be implemented by Jesus. The OT also tells us about the Hebrews, whom God chose to be His people, most probably for experimental and demonstrational purposes. The main theme of the OT, apart from revealing and praising God and His works, is constituted by God-inspired prophecies concerning Jesus. (more…)
Let the FIRST thing become the FIRST thing in your life
What is our FIRST thing for being a Christian in God’s family? What about the FIRST thing?
Being a Christian, we celebrate our relationship with the Lord, especially we can now enjoy the peace of God in us as we are made right with God through Christ Jesus. Yes, we should celebrate this truth, the truth of Jesus that set us all free from guilt and shame, we no longer need to be fearful of God, but we can come boldly to the throne of God (see Hebrews). Miracle Lightning Strike!

Can you witness to someone who speaks another language? Dark haired and dark eyed, this striking uniformed woman entered the crowded gift shop in Central Florida. The Hebrew on her uniform told me she was a traveling Israeli Army officer. An elderly American couple accompanied her. When I greeted the strangers by the impulse of the Holy Spirit, the elderly Christian woman explained she personally never took the opportunity to witness Christ to her Hebrew friend. Called to be different
In the days of old, Jewish worship consisted of high priests who had to make penance for his own and the people’s sins every once a year. This was a serious affair that entailed that the priest to first be right with God lest he die. Leviticus 21:6, 8 describes the qualification of the priest, top of which was holiness. (more…)
Learning Hebrew Over the Last 10 Years
In 1990, I was planning a trip to Israel, but it got postponed due to Desert Storm and the Gulf War. I finally go on a tour trip of Israel in 1996. But in the late 80s, in Oklahoma, before the internet, how does one begin to learn Hebrew?
There wasn’t any internet yet. I ordered the famous, or infamous, FSI course. FSI stands for the Foreign Service Institute. These are courses created by the US government, supposedly used to teach military and/or diplomats. (more…)
How “At Home with Hebrew” was Created

Back in 1994, I first began to learn Hebrew. Most books were just too difficult; for example, I ordered the “Foreign Service Institute” course. It taught the entire alphabet on one page, then jumped into complex lessons with no vowels. (more…)
