“I praise you Father for all of the wonderful things that you do and what you choose to do through me today!” It is not all about me and what I can do but what God can do through me. Getting your eyes off of yourself and your selfish desires and wants and focussing on what God wants to do through you that impacts people and life around you. It starts as a daily attitude that you wrap your mind around every morning. How does your day start? Do spend some time with God in the morning to help start your day off right? Just as you would prepare for an important interview or presentation you should prepare yourself to meet the day head on as one who “is more than a conquer”. Discerning Spots and Blemishes

In my last blog, “Does God Still Give Gifts?” I firmly established that spiritual gifts did not disappear with the passing of the apostles in the first century. In 1 Corinthians 12 the Apostle Paul lists the nine gifts of the Spirit as words of wisdom, words of knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, spiritual discernment, tongues, and interpretation of tongues. Each of these gifts was given to the church as tools to bring the body of Christ into perfect unity in the image of the head, Jesus Christ. Without these gifts, it is impossible for the body of Christ to ever fulfill that purpose. Over the last one hundred years, a special grace was poured out on the church bringing her into this truth and causing her to embrace the gifts as a present reality. The message is still the same. “Repent; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” John the Baptist, Jesus Christ, and the Apostles all preached this same message. Most of the churches that are mentioned in Revelation chapters 2 and 3 needed to repent of something, or suffer the consequences. To repent is to think differently, or to reconsider. The Last Hours of Christ’s Life Teaches Us Much about Ourselves

As we walk with Him in the last twenty-four hours of His life we see five attributes that we need to learn. The first one is humility. Jesus, the King OF Kings, took off His outer garment and began to wash the disciple’s feet. This is a picture that we need to study and learn. If we humble ourselves he won’t have to humble us. I once told this to a pastor and he said that we should not pray for humility because God will answer that one. I explained that God only humbles those who refuse to humble themselves. God will never humiliate a person, but He will humble one that gets too proud. (more…)

It is like a cool breeze of wanting to express His love to others.

I need to remember though, that it is not my love.

First Corinthians 2:9-16 records, in a most clear fashion, the reality and importance of listening for the guidance of God’s Spirit. It is to this passage we now turn.

9 but just as it is written, “Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, and which have not entered the heart of man, all that God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Those who have no relationship with Jesus have no way of understanding the rich relationship and joyful existence that union with God makes possible. They have rejected the source of all the wonderful things that a relationship with God brings things too wonderful even to imagine. Too many people pursue wealth, fame, prestige, and other worldly things thinking that they will find fulfillment and peace in them. However, the only true lasting peace one can be assured of is found in a relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ. (more…)

So from the foundation of the world, God has had a plan in place to redeem man whom he created in his image and loved. He did this by sending his only begotten Son, The Lord Jesus, into the world to be a sacrifice for sin once and for all by his death, burial, and resurrection.
