THE BEAUTY OF BEARING THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, self-control. Against such, there is no law.”
Galatians 5:22:23.
It is God’s utmost desire for us to be first of all fruitful in life, that is, being full of the fruit of His Spirit in us as He detailed in the book of Galatians chapter 5. It’s important because those virtues depict His image and likeness in us; they vividly express the presence of Jesus living in us. (more…)
How to Have Childlike Faith
By Frank King
Recently, I was preaching at one of our local churches. At the end of the service and as everyone was leaving, a lady walked up front to me and asked, “How do you get childlike faith?” I was somewhat taken aback by her question because that’s not what I had been preaching on that day. On the other hand, Jesus said, “Except you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3). So the lady’s question was certainly relevant. Holiness and Victory Over Sin #20
By Karl Kemp
Holy Father, we humble our hearts before you. We’re making it a top priority to understand your Word. We want to understand it. We want to live it. We want to be fully ready to stand before you. We pray in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!
I’ll always quote from the New American Standard Bible, unless I mention otherwise. Sometimes I make comments in the middle of quotations using brackets [ ] or [[ ]] to make them more obvious. (more…)
Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Turn your eyes upon Jesus, and look to His wonderful face, all things of this world shall grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace.
When your eyes are upon Him, the weight of the natural things no longer has effect on you. Gazing on Him is waiting for that which is supernatural and the natural mind can not understand it. There will be peace like river even when all is crumbling down in your life. Set your eyes on Him again! (more…)
Holiness and Victory Over Sin #16
By Karl Kemp
Holy Father, we humble our hearts before you; we want to rightly divide your Word; we want to understand it; we want to live in line with your Word by your sufficient grace. Thank you for full salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ. We pray in His mighty name. Amen!
Last time when we stopped we were discussing 1 John 1:8. This is a very important verse. Most Christians, something like 80-90 percent of Christians, believe this verse proves we can never stop sinning in this life. As I have mentioned, I believe they are making a serious mistake. The apostle John wrote 1 John 1:8 against the Gnostic heretics, not against Christians who thought they could have the victory over sin. The Gnostic heretics denied that sin was the problem, and they denied that the blood of Jesus is the answer. They denied they were sinners, and they denied the atoning blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. I’m very sure that John was dealing with the Gnostic heretics in 1 John 1:8. (more…)
Two Nations

The Bible is divided into two parts, the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament is represented by the country of Israel. The laws of God were given to the Israelites along with the blessings and the covering of sin through the required sacrifices. All the prophecies about Jesus and the end times are also covered in the Old Testament. The New Testament tells of those prophecies fulfilled through Jesus Christ. (more…)
Recognizing Jesus Christ’s Kings
The two responsibilities that we are given in this world are to enrich the life of our body, and spirit. Our body’s desire may not be that of our spirit, which at that time, we may have already given privilege to the evil one, who uses such opportunity to interfere with the life we lead. In the beginning Adam and Eve had only one temptation, and that was a fruit tree in the garden of Eden, but today, we are overwhelmed with temptation. The price for sin is death, but Jesus Christ has paid that price, and has given us our day of independence. As babes we are not able to choose whether or not to be born, but being born of the spirit is our choice. Observe the foundation of Christian living (we must believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, Second is to have faith, and third, we carry our cross, but must follow only the Son of God) our needs are met by faith but not all our needs are known by us. God knows all our needs and so he told us to baptise because there is a need for it. (more…)
The Fruit of the Spirit
By Dave Ingram
Galatians 5:22-23 lists the fruit of the spirit as “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. In the Bible, the word “fruit” is frequently used to refer to the results of someone’s labor, behavior or attitudes. Thus, the fruit of the spirit consists of those traits which manifest themselves in believers’ lives as a result of leading a Spirit-filled life and continually seeking after God. In John 16:7-15, Jesus explains that He is about to send His Holy Spirit as an advocate and guide to the believers until Jesus’ return. Guided by the Holy Spirit, each of our lives can begin to display all nine characteristics of the fruit of the spirit. (more…)
Christians or Disciples?
By Sandor Balog
No wonder that some present-day Christians sincerely striving to be followers of Jesus have become fed up with being made to feel guilty by non-Christians and anti-Christians alike for all the sins that have been committed in the name of Christianity over nearly two millennia. The best way for them to avoid being permanently accused of what they have never committed is to clearly distance themselves from what has stuck to Christianity over the past nearly two thousand years. They could simply abandon using the notions Christian and Christianity and identify themselves otherwise. I recommend using the term “Disciple”. If, for clarity, they, in certain instances, wish to differentiate themselves from Jesus’ first century disciples, they could call themselves “modern-day disciples”. (more…)
To Believe or not to Believe?
By Sandor Balog
Firstly, we should consider the Old Testament (OT) as God’s account of the origin of the earth, life on earth and of the universe. The OT tells us about original sin, God’s judgment and His scheme for salvation to be implemented by Jesus. The OT also tells us about the Hebrews, whom God chose to be His people, most probably for experimental and demonstrational purposes. The main theme of the OT, apart from revealing and praising God and His works, is constituted by God-inspired prophecies concerning Jesus. (more…)
The Blessedness of Patience
Ordinarily, patience is not one of the virtues strongly desired, sought after or prayed for because of its nature. Patience is not glamorous, attractive, or appealing in the midst of congregation of believers as the gifts of the Holy Spirit and God the Father 1 Corinthians 12:-10, Romans 12:6 and James 1:17. And yet when you possess this virtue, it makes you stand out and noticeable amongst Brothers, Sisters and even those who are not of the same faith. When the degree of prevailing conditions are very hot or of such intensity that makes you jittery, desperate or loose hope of the promises of God, patience displays its qualities that enable you wait for the goodness of our Lord Jesus Christ. For without it, desperation can lead you to wrong choices and decisions that end you up in paths of destruction. (more…)
He Saw Me
He Saw Me
In John 1:45-51, Jesus met a man named Nathanael. He knew Nathanael before they met. He saw Nathanael. There are many verses in the bible that tell us of the foreknowledge of God;
Acts 2:23- Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
Romans 8:29- For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. (more…)
Let the FIRST thing become the FIRST thing in your life
What is our FIRST thing for being a Christian in God’s family? What about the FIRST thing?
Being a Christian, we celebrate our relationship with the Lord, especially we can now enjoy the peace of God in us as we are made right with God through Christ Jesus. Yes, we should celebrate this truth, the truth of Jesus that set us all free from guilt and shame, we no longer need to be fearful of God, but we can come boldly to the throne of God (see Hebrews). Easter In Norway
LEN’S LINES —A little Religion on a Positive Note by Len Granger
The world celebrated Easter Sunday, the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, in many different ways. When I think of Norway, a land of the Vikings with ice and snow, few people probably know the Norwegians have some of the strangest traditions. Mickey Bambrick, a column writer for the La Conner Weekly News, La Conner Washington, visited the homeland of her ancestors over the Easter holiday, and was really surprised how Norway was so different.
