Two Billion Christians to One
An article in the Daily Oklahoman today (12/20/2011) should be an encouragement to Christians. It was written by Rachel Zoll and it was entitled, “Study Shows Shift in Christian Population”.
The article stated that, “Christians overall remain the largest religious group in the world, according to a new analysis released Monday.” Christians should rejoice over this information. The Gospel is reaching people. People are being changed, for the better. They are meeting and following the Lord of the universe. (more…)
Spiritual Basic Training: 50 Missions for a Spirit-Filled Life #5
“Then the LORD said to Moses, ‘I will rain down bread from heaven for you’” (Exodus 16:4). Pray for our daily basic needs because God will provide in abundance for us. Pray that our daily needs of food, drink, and shelter are provided to us. We forget how important these essential elements of our daily lives are sometimes. Also, be content with what we have been blessed with. For those of us who are fortunate enough to have enough food on our tables, water in our cups, and a home to sleep in, it is easy to overlook these necessities in life. Many of our brothers and sisters in the world pray sincerely for their daily bread every day. (more…)
Accessing God
God is willing and available to explain our circumstances to us if we are willing to listen to Him. One such example in Scripture can be seen in Job 42 when the Lord finally appears and ministers to Job. We can see a conversation going on here. It is awesome to imagine that this great God, this omniscient presence, this Mighty one, is willing to listen to us. He is not averse to intellectually engaging us; in Isaiah 1:18 He invites us further, “Come now, let us reason together”, says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow, though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool”. Through Christ, our God is willing to listen to what is in our hearts and also forgive us our sins. (more…)
A heart after God
2Chronicles 15:1-2 reads:’ The Spirit of God came upon Azariah son of Oded. He went out to meet Asa and said to him, “Listen to me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you when you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you, but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you”.
It is God’s intention that we may commune and connect with Him. In our relating to Him we are not after something but rather after someone. We are not seeking for miracles, favor, jobs or wealth but rather for Him. We know we are in this place when there is a cry in our hearts, a hunger that consumes us, a thirst that remains unquenched, and a void that seeks to be filled and only He can do this to those He has called to Himself. Philippians 2:13 says, ‘for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose’. How then do we bring change to ourselves as individuals, as a congregation or as a nation in order to get to that point of hungering for God in this way? (more…)
Holiness and Victory Over Sin #16
By Karl Kemp
Holy Father, we humble our hearts before you; we want to rightly divide your Word; we want to understand it; we want to live in line with your Word by your sufficient grace. Thank you for full salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ. We pray in His mighty name. Amen!
Last time when we stopped we were discussing 1 John 1:8. This is a very important verse. Most Christians, something like 80-90 percent of Christians, believe this verse proves we can never stop sinning in this life. As I have mentioned, I believe they are making a serious mistake. The apostle John wrote 1 John 1:8 against the Gnostic heretics, not against Christians who thought they could have the victory over sin. The Gnostic heretics denied that sin was the problem, and they denied that the blood of Jesus is the answer. They denied they were sinners, and they denied the atoning blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. I’m very sure that John was dealing with the Gnostic heretics in 1 John 1:8. (more…)

The Blessedness of Patience
Ordinarily, patience is not one of the virtues strongly desired, sought after or prayed for because of its nature. Patience is not glamorous, attractive, or appealing in the midst of congregation of believers as the gifts of the Holy Spirit and God the Father 1 Corinthians 12:-10, Romans 12:6 and James 1:17. And yet when you possess this virtue, it makes you stand out and noticeable amongst Brothers, Sisters and even those who are not of the same faith. When the degree of prevailing conditions are very hot or of such intensity that makes you jittery, desperate or loose hope of the promises of God, patience displays its qualities that enable you wait for the goodness of our Lord Jesus Christ. For without it, desperation can lead you to wrong choices and decisions that end you up in paths of destruction. (more…)
Knowing The Unknowable God
By Rabon Byrd
If you were to ask any believer if they desired to know the Lord in a greater and deeper way, I would guarantee that all would answer in the affirmative. Therefore, I do not believe that lack of desire to know Christ is the leading reason for the evident lack of spiritual knowledge in the Church. Many will say that it is due to indifferent Christians who are not trying hard enough and not putting enough effort toward knowing the Lord. In my opinion, lack of desire to know Christ does not account for the lack of knowledge in the Body of Christ, but the means by which they endeavor to achieve such knowledge. (more…)
Easter In Norway
LEN’S LINES —A little Religion on a Positive Note by Len Granger
The world celebrated Easter Sunday, the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, in many different ways. When I think of Norway, a land of the Vikings with ice and snow, few people probably know the Norwegians have some of the strangest traditions. Mickey Bambrick, a column writer for the La Conner Weekly News, La Conner Washington, visited the homeland of her ancestors over the Easter holiday, and was really surprised how Norway was so different. Isaiah 40:17 thoughts
Our scripture for today seems to hit that nail on the head with appropriateness for the season:
“All nations before him are as nothing;
and they are counted to him less than nothing,
and vanity.” (Isaiah 40:17)
Our eyes should be looking up because it seems that His coming back is oh, so very much closer! Only when our Lord is here to rule and reign will we have “perfect” government. (more…)
The Law of Moses was given through the administration of angels
Posted in: bible studies Tags: angels, bible, bible studies, Christ, christian, Christianity, commandments, israel, Judaism, lord, Torah, worship
It is commonly believed that the Law [Torah], which is the foundation stone of Judaism and indirectly, Christianity, was given to Moses on fiery, Mount Sinai came from God; but in actuality it came through the administration of the angels of God. Of course, it is believed that these commandments, statutes and ordinances were directed by God Himself and therefore were obligatory for the children of Israel to observe and practice in the worship of their LORD. Interesting Facts About Repentance
By June Morton
What is repentance?
Repentance demonstrates regrets to the extent of changing one’s direction in lieu of the opposite. It shows remorsefulness for wrong doings, as one refrains from continuing along that line and changes course to the right one. It also takes a submissive and penitent heart to desire such alteration. Don’t Mind God- The Age-long Tactic
He is the prince of this world, the serpent of old, the morning star, the persecutor and thief to mention just a few. Every child of God knows-or should know- that the Devil is a force to reckon with. If not anything, he has at least six thousand years experience in dealing with man so he has an upper hand. But thanks be to God who has given us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. we can resist him and he shall flee. (more…)
