Why Are We So Scared of Grace?
Why Are We So Scared of Grace?
By Angel Casiano
“Demolishing the Mockery against Grace”
Why are we so scared of grace? The Bible tells us in First John 4:16 that “God is love.” As we look deeper, we’ll find in First Corinthians 13:8 that one on of the most powerful characteristics of love is that it “never fails.” The foundation of everything that God is and does flows out of the amazing reality that the nature of God is love and that He has never lost a battle. Love is undefeated! Why are we connecting grace to love? Nelson’s New Illustrated Dictionary defines grace as: “Favor or kindness shown without regard to the worth or merit of the one who receives it and in spite of what that person deserves. Grace is one of the key attributes of God. The Lord God is “merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abounding in goodness and truth.” (Ex. 34:6). Therefore, grace is almost always associated with mercy, love, compassion, and patience. Jesus represented the Father’s greatest expression of love to the world (John 3:16) and He manifested that love to humanity in two ways, as explained in John 1:16-17 (more…)
Liberated in the Lord’s Love
Liberated, being set free, out of bondage and into LIFE. What can anyone possibly find wrong with this picture?
Prayer: Oh, my Jesus, you make joy in my heart when I hear you speak my name! I love You. Help me to tune in and listen and hear Your whispered plans for today. I’ve read the book, chapter and verse. I already know Your plans for tomorrow. I want to be ready a warrior for Jesus! (more…)
How Capable is God in Your Life
Are you walking on water in the middle of the storm or are you going through fiery trials thinking you are ready for the burn unit, maybe a little bit of both is happening to you right now. During the time I was thinking about this and bringing things before the Lord I was particularly concerned about a friend. Many other times in my walk with the Lord I found myself in the trial and tribulation department. This study can apply to both situations. I think I can be pretty sure when I say that if you are a born again believer you definitely know there IS a battle, and then you hear His still, small voice whispering in your ear: (more…)
The Best Part of Waking Up is Jesus in Your Cup
By Tara Roper
So, I awoke this morning ready for some time with God. On the way down the stairs, I could smell the coffee brewing, Praise God for coffee timers!
As I sat, praying and working through a day in my bible study,I was just really enjoying myself. I reflected on how a friend of mine had mentioned her love of pairing her study time with coffee. We discussed how we almost felt guilty that we sometimes went for the coffee before the Word. But, I’ve re-thought it, and well, I think there is a happy medium. (more…)
Joy

I had read Mother Teresa‘s words that joy was a net of love by which to catch souls.
I had never seen that so clearly as I do now.
That Joy is the Presence of the Fruit of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
His Joy draws others to our Lord by the Presence of His light and life in us in that Joy.
It is truly a net by which to see souls saved. Jesus life draws people to Him.
I am put in remembrance this morning, again, of a show we did in which these words became so much more real to me.
There was a little stand there to talk to kids about Jesus. (more…)

Father, Son, Holy Mackerel – Chapter 1

I can count the times I joined my dad on a fishing expedition on one hand, actually on three fingers. But those three fishing experiences were memorable indeed! I was an inquisitive seven-year-old and was ecstatic about going fishing with my dad.
Each time I tossed out the line, I caught something — and my lines never even hit the water. On my first attempt, I hooked my father’s favorite outdoor cap, pulling it unceremoniously off his head. I remember his initial irritation turning to laughter as he helped me reel his hat in. I also remember how the wet hat looked on his head. He refused to fish without it. (more…)
