Two Gates-Two Paths

Many look at life and exclaim “Life is Good!” as if their existence is simply about having a good time. They go on living each day without any concern for their eternal destination as they engage themselves in the world’s current affairs. Throwing themselves into the pleasures of the world has become their reason for living. Their only gratification comes from their weekend leisure. Conviction is thrown by the wayside and they lash out at anyone who disapproves of their immoral choices.
Loneliness

By Stanley Hasegawa
Loneliness is about alien-ness, distance, disconnectedness, helplessness, forsakenness all shot through with a painful sense of not being valued or loved.
Loneliness can happen to us when we are aliens, strangers.
“He was in the world, and the world was created by him, but the world did not recognize him.” (John 1:10)
If Jesus our Lord was treated as a stranger by the world, we will be too.
We may experience a season of loneliness because of the loss of a loved one. This is especially true of widows and orphans because they often become simultaneously alien (they need to relate to others differently from before), disconnected, helpless (financially insecure) and in a sense forsaken.
We may experience a season of loneliness because of betrayal or abandonment.
“But this has happened so that the scriptures of the prophets would be fulfilled. Then all the disciples left him and fled.” (Matthew 26:56)
We may experience a season of loneliness because of illness or criminal punishment.
“Around three o’clock Jesus cried out with a loud voice, ‘Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’” (Mark 15:34)
We may experience loneliness because abuse and/or neglect have profoundly altered how we think of ourselves and the people around us. As children, it is too threatening for us to acknowledge that our parents truly reject us and abuse/neglect us. If this is true, our normal, everyday life becomes impossible to live into.
What is the State of the Christian

Christians must examine themselves in light of the word of God. “I wish Mr. (or Mrs.) X could have heard that sermon. It’s just what he needed,” said Mr. Y as he shook my hand after the worship service. The state of the Christian is sad when Christians avoid self-examination.
God’s Covenant with Moses

Moses’ response to the Lord telling him, He is sending Moses is one that seems to imply the Lord does not know what He is doing. Moses asks the Lord, one of those why me questions, when he asks the Lord “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?”

Every year around Easter, prominently displayed, nationally known magazines parade before an unsuspecting public, articles about ancient books which these magazines allege should, could or would have become books in the Bible.

Acknowledge God owns everything. Function confidently, knowing He’s in control. Understand that He gives and takes away and love Him regardless.
Living Out Your Freedom

If one must experience the freedom that God gives he must be involved in what the Spirit of God is involved, be where He (the Spirit of God) is.

True Vision

Don’t forget this: God needs us to do things that are of eternal value rather than things that are just of earthly, temporary value (Matt.6:19-24).
The Call of Abraham

Abraham aka Abram. The events in the Middle East that have had a major impact on humanity and history in the past, in the present and will have in the future are traceable back to Abraham. In Genesis chapter eleven verses twenty-seven through thirty-two it is written, “Now this is the history of the generations of Terah.
Suffer No Harm
Now, if you’re like me and suffer from a severe phobia of the slithering kind, our carnal minds would have us believe that being bitten by a viper IS considered suffering harm! But, praise the Lord, we are not slaves to the mind of our flesh. If you continue reading, you’ll see that Paul was able to continue his ministry and suffered no ill effects from the bite.

If the Revelation of Jesus Christ had not informed us of the release of the devil for a season after a thousand years of imprisonment, we would have had a formidable obstacle against interpretation of these matters. However, with simplicity the Lord projects the fulfillment of incredible events in His evolving preparations for the end of the natural order. He puts to rest concentrated cogitations of man’s wisdom with simple truth.
What Is Spiritual Personal Development?
You might have read a personal development book within the last year or two. Have you ever read a book on spiritual personal development? What is the difference between the two? Personal development books are also called self-help books. Spiritual personal development is not “self-help.” Spiritual personal development is “God-help.” In that one change of words, from self-help to God-help, is a world of difference.
I Want to Learn Patience – Now!
The road of life is littered with broken promises, the road kill of good intentions. Even when we mean well, circumstances can prevent us from keeping our promises, whether made to others or ourselves. Economic downturns, catastrophic upturns, and infectious returns can conspire to overturn our plans. Some things are just beyond our power to control.
