THE ORIGIN OF THE UNIVERSE, THE EARTH AND OF LIFE ON EARTH
By Sandor Balog
1. Throughout human history many thoughtful men have asked themselves the question: how did the universe, the earth and life on earth come into being? Many explanations and theories have been suggested that either completely contradict one another or contradict the word of the Bible. What, therefore, is the true explanation?
This study attempts to provide an answer to this question starting from the premise that every single word of the Bible is true. (more…)
God’s Guidance (Part 1)
Posted in: Christian Living Tags: bible, christian, Christianity, god, Jesus, Old Testament, Religion, scriptures
Christians are often called ‘people of the Book’, meaning they take the Bible as the authoritative guide for their lives. Many Christians live out their daily walk relying on the Bible to be the Book they can go to for answers. Many believe that the Bible contains guidelines for every possible situation they may encounter. A closer look at this issue would show us this is not quite the case. Let us set aside what we may have been taught, or what we may have heard at some time in our lives, and see what the Bible actually teaches on this subject. (more…)
The Flavour of Jesus (1) – children
JESUS said, “Let the children come to me.” And we can see why when our own children skip about in happy abandon, life precious to them; their innocence. The love they lavish on us is without hesitation. That is how we are to live, with zest, without bags of problems to hold us back.
I know from my own life experiences, it can be a challenge simply dealing with daily struggles; the bills, holding onto one’s job, and in many cases raising our own children. (more…)

Christianity Is Not A Religion
Posted in: Christian Living Tags: christian, Christianity, Faith, god, Holy Spirit, Jesus, Jesus Christ, Religion
The question comes up time and time again. I have made it a primary issue in the arena of ideas concerning Christianity versus the religion of Atheism that Christianity, as it is supposed to be defined, is not a religion.
Christianity is no more a religion than marriage is. Christianity is a relationship between a person and the creator of the universe based on the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. It is a real, personal relationship. The person actually knows God on a personal, intimate, dynamic level. They interact with each other. They speak with each other. The person is led through life by God in a very intricate way. (more…)

Fasting Has Nothing To Do With Food
Fasting Has Nothing To Do With Food
By Michael Shoesmith
Fasting is not generally associated with anything pleasant or satisfying. Some cultures claim that fasting from food to the point of near death brings about a type of euphoria otherwise unachievable. I do believe this to be true. In fact some medical scientists believe that death by starvation may be the single most pleasant way to go if given the choice. But, for the most part people are just not into the whole fasting thing simply because of the image it conjures up. Going without food for extended periods of time is just plain distasteful. (more…)
What are You Waiting on?
Posted in: Miracles Tags: bible, Christianity, god, Jesus Christ, lord, miracle, Religion, waiting for God
By Debbie Kay
“Well, I’m just waiting for a miracle.” How often have you heard someone say that? How often have you said it? “If God wanted me to have a new car he would give it to me?. If it’s in his will for me to have a good job he will make it happen” If your staring out the window waiting for that shiny new sports car to come tearing up the drive, then you should probably get comfortable, since my best guess is your going to be sitting there looking down the road for a long time. By the same token if you are waiting everyday for someone to knock on the door and say “Your Hired!” your probably going to get mighty hungry before it happens. (more…)
Hopeless Battle

Are you fighting a hopeless battle? We do not need to be on a foreign field to be entrapped and in desperate need of deliverance. Some fight the battle of addictions. Others battle loneliness or depression. All of mankind battles the lure of sin. Is our battle hopeless? (more…)
The Hardest People to Love

Do you love your neighbor?
When Jesus was asked about the most important commandment in the whole Bible, he said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength; and love your neighbor as yourself.” The first part, if I may be a bit glib, is easy. All you have to do is think for a while about how badly you messed up your life, and how miraculously God saved you, and you really can’t help but love him. You can love him by yourself in the desert, like the ancient saints used to. Loving people while living in a world surrounded by them, on the other hand, is much harder. (more…)

Jesus and other sons of gods
By Waqar Daniel
Jesus claimed to be Son of the God Most High and called the God Most High as Father. The main purpose of Jesus’ life on earth was
“I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. (John 10:10)
Jesus was the only Son of God who claimed to give everlasting life and He laid His own life to do so. Whereas, in comparison to others who claimed to be sons of various gods never claimed to give everlasting life. (more…)

The Sun was at its scorching peak, beating relentlessly on the soft shimmering desert sand. Centuries of Sun and wind worked persistently turning the once fertile land to endlessly shifting stretching sand, forever changing landscapes.
Not a single insect or a creeping creature dared to risk come out of the shadows to peep out on the burning sand.
Silence so deafening that a cracking rock somewhere deep in the desert due to the intense heat, sends an echo through the length and breath, to and fro till it dies suddenly as it had started.
It’s only the soft crawling sound through the boulders on the treacherous terrain, scampering the snug scorpions and the snakes around, as a sturdy young man tries to seek water and rest, which broke the silence. The young man was crawling, as his feet were blistered and bleeding, the sandals having worn out long time back. (more…)
Christian Tithing – Separating Fact From Fiction

By R. Renee
Some preachers proclaim Christians are promised health, wealth and prosperity when they tithe. They say give God ten percent of your (gross) income. In return, God will prosper you. Is this true? Is this biblical?
A careful study of the Bible shows that Christians are not promised prosperity if they tithe.
Here are the facts about tithing and prosperity: (more…)

Spiritual Warfare
By Nellie Shani
I still remember the look of guilt on the face of a young girl who had come to my office for counseling when she asked me ?What is Satanism? Who is Satan? I mean?who created him?? I looked at her for a while, trying to figure out what she really wanted to know. I needed to know whether this was an ?I?m trying to trap you to see whether you know what I know? question of a fifteen year old, or whether she seriously wanted to know about Satanism. I prayed, asking God to give me wisdom. I was the school counselor and had given some talks on ?spiritual warfare? at the Wednesday night youth group meetings. (more…)
Start Your Day Off Right

Some days it seems like the moment our feet hit the floor and we get out of bed, things go wrong. The day doesn’t get off on the right foot and everything dominoes from that point on into chaos, stress, anger, and many other emotions.
It doesn’t have to be that way. (more…)
