Lingering Fear
By Erin Dijkema
As a child, I had a very limited view of the concept of fear. I was afraid of the dark, old haggish witches and particularly of being kidnapped. I felt they were pretty legitimate things to be scared of back then. These fears were of things that were tangible, things that I could always easily be able to separate myself from. However, as I grew, my range of possible fears grew and matured. They were no longer just tangible fears, but intangible fears that would affect my life eventually despite my efforts to avoid them. One could also say, if analyzed enough, two distinct categories of fears were formed; those healthy fears that saves those who listen from destructive danger, and those fears that seem to overwhelm us despite their irrationality and/or ignorance of significance of the thing we fear, such as fear of commitment or fear of change; we forget that some of these things are actually beneficial. These two types of fears can be further explained by comparing between those given by God and those formed, manipulated, and churned over and over by Satan (sometimes those given by God have also been distorted by Satan). Unmasking the Ancient Ways of Satan Part 1
As the culture of the world becomes friendlier to evil, it is extremely important for the People of God to be able to recognize and understand the ancient ways of Satan. Satan has successfully used the same strategy from the ancient days to today. In Heaven, in the very presence of God, the Evil One was able to convince one third of the angels to follow him as he rebelled against God. Even as Adam and Eve walked with God in the cool of the day, the enemy was still able to deceive Eve and also cause Adam to rebel against the one thing God said not to do. Still today the enemy continues to successfully apply his evil strategy and deceive many every day. Satan has a way of making a lie look like the ultimate truth and make sin look holy. After all, he still has the ability to present himself as an angel of light. (more…)
Why We Pray the Word of God

God commanded saying “…these words, which I command thee this day, shall be upon thy heart; and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up” (Deuteronomy 6:6-7).
Christian spiritual growth depends upon knowing God‘s Word. “…as newborn babes, long for the spiritual milk which is without guile, that ye may grow thereby unto salvation” (I Peter 2:2). Just as food must be taken into the system and digested before it can benefit the body, so must the Scriptures to strengthen the soul.

Laying up scripture in the heart provides comfort and strength in times of trouble. “Unless thy law had been my delight, I should then have perished in mine affliction. I will never forget thy precepts; for with them thou hast quickened me (Psalms 119:92-93).
The Word of God accompanied by faith is a powerful weapon. When tempted by Satan in the wilderness, Jesus successfully defended himself with the Word of God that was stored up in his heart (Matthew 4:1-11). To emphasize how important the Word of God is Jesus said, “Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4)
The Word of God contains numerous promises about many situations, circumstances and issues. Reading, meditating and proclaiming these Scriptures helps us to understand how God wants us to act in diverse circumstances and increases our faith. Praying the Word of God helps us to pray and intercede with wisdom and knowledge rather than from a perspective of fear and anxiety. I encourage you to build your prayers around these commands and mandates from Scripture.
Summary:
Our prayers are answered when we pray according to the will of God which is found in His Word. (1 John 5:14-15)
When we pray the Word it increases faith in our hearts. (Rom.10:17)
The Word has authority. When God created the universe, He did it through His Son, the Word. The Word still has the same power. When we call on the living Word, it has the power to give life and to re-create.

This is a question every serious Christian has asked God in his lifetime . Many of us ask the Lord for His will in our lives almost on a daily basis. Out of a sense of gratitude perhaps, we now would like to offer ourselves to the Lord to see what He would have us do with our lives. Perhaps even, the more we love Him the more we would like to please Him & do what He wants us to do. Many expend their entire lives doing many things hoping that it is the will of God & that He will one day say “Well done, my good & faithful servant”.
So then, how can we know the will of God for our lives ? Please bare with me as my answer is not exactly the status quos . (more…)
