Get Your Head On Straight!
1 Corinthians 2:16 But we have the mind of Christ. Ephesians 5:1-2 1 Be mitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children 2and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Putting on the mind of Christ and being imitators of Christ is a daily decision for us Christians. This is not an easy task for you have to discard your past identity so that you can now identify with Christ. (more…)
The Ten Commandments
By Dave Ingram
The ten commandments given to Israel by God in the book of Exodus stand out among many ancient codes of law as a set of governing principles that have stood the test of time. The ten commandments have done more to influence the tenants of government around and societal norms across the globe than any other body of law. A study of the ten commandments can reveal much to modern readers about the way humanity is meant to function in a perfect world. (more…)
Words
Proverbs 18:21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Ephesians 4:29-32 29Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. The Fruit of the Spirit
By Dave Ingram
Galatians 5:22-23 lists the fruit of the spirit as “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. In the Bible, the word “fruit” is frequently used to refer to the results of someone’s labor, behavior or attitudes. Thus, the fruit of the spirit consists of those traits which manifest themselves in believers’ lives as a result of leading a Spirit-filled life and continually seeking after God. In John 16:7-15, Jesus explains that He is about to send His Holy Spirit as an advocate and guide to the believers until Jesus’ return. Guided by the Holy Spirit, each of our lives can begin to display all nine characteristics of the fruit of the spirit. (more…)
The Blessedness of Patience
Ordinarily, patience is not one of the virtues strongly desired, sought after or prayed for because of its nature. Patience is not glamorous, attractive, or appealing in the midst of congregation of believers as the gifts of the Holy Spirit and God the Father 1 Corinthians 12:-10, Romans 12:6 and James 1:17. And yet when you possess this virtue, it makes you stand out and noticeable amongst Brothers, Sisters and even those who are not of the same faith. When the degree of prevailing conditions are very hot or of such intensity that makes you jittery, desperate or loose hope of the promises of God, patience displays its qualities that enable you wait for the goodness of our Lord Jesus Christ. For without it, desperation can lead you to wrong choices and decisions that end you up in paths of destruction. (more…)
He Saw Me
He Saw Me
In John 1:45-51, Jesus met a man named Nathanael. He knew Nathanael before they met. He saw Nathanael. There are many verses in the bible that tell us of the foreknowledge of God;
Acts 2:23- Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
Romans 8:29- For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. (more…)
The Wielding
Delilah manipulated her man and he unwittingly succumbed to her powers of persuasion. As I recall the saga of Samson and Delilah, I pity the poor man. The vamp duped him and he paid a steep price for imbibing on the fruits of passion. God’s chosen never learned to say no when temptation lured him onto paths the sanctified should never trod.
I do not believe Delilah’s den is where the story began with “Once upon a time” Scriptures reveal that our leading man once held great promise. God set him apart, as holy, a peculiar person. Vows of a Nazarite included no cutting of his locks or drinking fruit of the vine. (Judges 13:5-7) He came from a godly home and knew both the demands and blessings of his call. (more…)
Isaiah 40:17 thoughts
Our scripture for today seems to hit that nail on the head with appropriateness for the season:
“All nations before him are as nothing;
and they are counted to him less than nothing,
and vanity.” (Isaiah 40:17)
Our eyes should be looking up because it seems that His coming back is oh, so very much closer! Only when our Lord is here to rule and reign will we have “perfect” government. (more…)
RESPONSE TO THE JEHOVAH WITNESSES TEACHING ON BEING BORN AGAIN
RESPONSE TO THE JEHOVAH WITNESSES TEACHING ON BEING BORN AGAIN
By Jeremiah opusunju
1. The Jehovah witnesses preach that believers do not need to be born again to inherit the kingdom of God on earth. During this dispensation of grace, this teaching is a perversion of the gospel of Christ.
Jesus Christ said that no one will see or enter into the kingdom of God (whether in heaven or on earth) during the dispensation of grace (the period of the gospel of Christ) without being born again (John 1:9-13; 3:3-19; 1Peter 2:13; Galatians 1:6-9). (more…)
The Seven-Year Reign Of Antichrist Deception
The seven-year reign of antichrist is a popular prophetic teaching that blatantly contradicts the Bible, for the Scriptures clearly state that the antichrist reigns for three and one-half years, not seven years (Revelation 13:5; Revelation 11:1-7). In fact, the idea of a seven-year reign of antichrist was arrived at by manipulating Daniel’s seventy-week prophecy concerning Israel and the Messiah in Daniel 9:24-27. (more…)
The Kingdom of Heaven
The Kingdom of Heaven
The message is still the same. “Repent; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” John the Baptist, Jesus Christ, and the Apostles all preached this same message. Most of the churches that are mentioned in Revelation chapters 2 and 3 needed to repent of something, or suffer the consequences. To repent is to think differently, or to reconsider. God loves the world and wants all of us to repent. (John 3:16, II Peter 3:9) (more…)
THE ORIGIN OF THE UNIVERSE, THE EARTH AND OF LIFE ON EARTH
By Sandor Balog
1. Throughout human history many thoughtful men have asked themselves the question: how did the universe, the earth and life on earth come into being? Many explanations and theories have been suggested that either completely contradict one another or contradict the word of the Bible. What, therefore, is the true explanation?
This study attempts to provide an answer to this question starting from the premise that every single word of the Bible is true. (more…)
Mutual faith
By jacqui julyan aka shofargirl a servant unto Jesus Christ
Romans 1 v 12
“That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me”
As I turned the radio off this morning I sat quietly with the LORD and his Word.
I had walked my dog, picked up the shopping for the day and fed both my cat and dog. I made myself comfortable and mused in my heart ‘Well Lord what have you to say to me today?’
Picking up Gods Word in faith is our food, our very life! (more…)
Ye have copied the world
By jacqui julyan aka shofargirl a servant unto Jesus Christ
Ye have copied the world!
I felt compelled very strongly later yesterday evening by the Holy Spirit to read 1 Corinthians. There were many things that the Holy Spirit drew my attention to but one in particular hit me so hard I knew it was the LORD. Again this morning I felt led again by the Holy Spirit to 1 Corinithians and actually opened up exactly at the same page I had read the evening before and exactly the same place I had read before I retired. I felt very strongly to post this scripture and write just as the LORD leads. (more…)
Women Pastors And Elders
Women pastors and elders are now being ordained throughout most Christian denominations. However, some still maintain that men and women have been assigned different roles in the Church, with men being designated by God for leadership; although the majority insists that this “male leadership” exclusivity does not apply to the New Testament Church. (more…)
