Women Pastors And Elders
Women pastors and elders are now being ordained throughout most Christian denominations. However, some still maintain that men and women have been assigned different roles in the Church, with men being designated by God for leadership; although the majority insists that this “male leadership” exclusivity does not apply to the New Testament Church. Sabbath Or Sunday?
The Sabbath is declared to be the seventh day of the week in the Ten Commandments. Exodus 20:8-11 states: “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore, the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.” (more…)
The Book of Daniel chapters 8-11
The Old Testament Book of Daniel is probably one of the more interesting narratives in the entire canon of Scripture, with the possible exception of the enigmatic Books of Ezekiel, and Revelation in the New Testament. There is quite a remarkable connection between the two books [Daniel and Revelation] because the narratives overlap in several places; especially in these last few chapters. The most notable passage is found in the ninth chapter, which refers to “Messiah the Prince” and most Fundamental Christian Theologians and Messianic Jewish scholarship believe 1 Daniel 9: 24-25 to refer to the person of Jesus [Yeshua] of Nazareth, the holy seed of the Virgin Mary, came into the world around 6 B.C. in the city of Bethlehem, in Judea. And while this is a very convincing and plausible interpretation, yet, the context has to be taken into consideration by reading chapters 8 thru 11, for the most part. (more…)
God’s Guidance (Part 1)
Posted in: Christian Living Tags: bible, christian, Christianity, god, Jesus, Old Testament, Religion, scriptures
Christians are often called ‘people of the Book’, meaning they take the Bible as the authoritative guide for their lives. Many Christians live out their daily walk relying on the Bible to be the Book they can go to for answers. Many believe that the Bible contains guidelines for every possible situation they may encounter. A closer look at this issue would show us this is not quite the case. Let us set aside what we may have been taught, or what we may have heard at some time in our lives, and see what the Bible actually teaches on this subject. (more…)
Balaam and His Donkey
By Cindie York
Numbers 22
Balak, the Moabite King had seen what the Israelites did to the Amorites in battle and was terrified. He knew the Israelites were powerful and could conquer them and drive them from their land. So acting in fear of the enemy attack, Balak sends his messengers (elders of Midian and Moab) to hire Balaam to curse the Israelite people. Balaam was a pagan diviner who read signs and omens to determine the future. People from Moab believed the diviner had special power to manipulate the future with curses or blessings. (more…)

Faith
Most of us accept that God is Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent. The word Omnipotent is used only one time in the scriptures (Revelation 19:6). The other two “O” words are not found. There are many scriptures that support all three words so let’s take a look. (more…)
The Prodigal son
By Fergus Davar
Hello folks, how are you? Hope all is well. I’ll be writing fewer articles now, as I now plan to take my writing into the music arena. Yeah I want to learn to compose music and am planning to invest my free time in learning the basics of music so that I can pass the interview for the 4 month course in music composition and direction starting January 2011 from Mumbai University.
Today I shall be writing on what was preached to the Church; however I feel the need to adapt to readers new to Church doctrine. Let us together go through the Parable of the Prodigal son in Luke 15:11-24. (more…)
Looking at the twelve sons of Jacob entrance into the land of Egypt
Exodus 1: 1-6
Now these are the names of the children of Israel who came to Egypt; each man and his household came with Jacob: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah; Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin; Dan, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher. All those who were descendants of Jacob were seventy persons (for Joseph was in Egypt already). And Joseph died, all his brothers, and all that generation. (more…)

No More I
No More I
Romans 7:14-21 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate that I do. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more that I do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. (more…)
The Blessings of the Christian Now!
As every Scripture is God-breathed given to us by His Inspiration, let us receive and rejoice in the blessings of the Christian ‘Now’ – that is interpreted as ‘at the present time’, ‘at this moment’, ‘instantly’ in the continuous present tense – not in the past minute or in the next – but every minute of the NOW that we meditate on the written and the spoken word of God! ….What a blessing in realizing His Word offers all these blessings continuously in the NOW of time! Will you receive them NOW?
A Little Jolt to Start the Morning
The Holy Spirit zapped me this morning with the idea that perhaps much of my daily stress is rooted in times I don’t live, make decisions, or plan ahead to please God. Instead, many of my choices are made to please others, or myself. (more…)

Expectation of the NT writers
and how it must control our hermeneutic
Students of scripture are often reminded that just as successful real estate dealings depend on location, location, location, a successful heremeneutic depends on context, context, context. Here is just one of many descriptions of what this means (emphesis mine DS): (more…)
When The Levees Break
Been thinking about levees today and the devastation which can be created by the failure of such protective structures. Years back I flew over Missouri after a series of storms caused a flooding of the Mississippi river. From an aerial perspective this looked to be quite the mess, with water flowing in places man didn’t plan. Major news stories for months. (more…)
Jesus the Good Teacher (Luke 18)

By Fergus Davar
Hi people I am writing again. I am always hungry to write on an article of my own & I did have one this time, I was going to write on Isaiah 64 because when I read it I felt as though I was spiritually in a cup & stirred with a spoon. I mean it was amazing. However I have an odd feeling to write on the Word I heard again in Church. The reason I feel more strongly to write on this is because there are people who site this piece of scripture so as to show that Jesus is not God. This situation seems to me as very dangerous, which can pollute a mind that knows little. (more…)
