Christianity A Confusing Amalgam Of Beliefs?
By Sandor Balog
Christianity today seems to have lost its real meaning. Countless churches and denominations claim to be the only true followers of Jesus. Are any of them worth joining?
In my view, if a church or denomination wants to be a true follower of Christ, first of all it must get rid of all traditions that have their roots in Pagan customs and habits like Easter and Christmas. It should clearly distance itself from such non-Scriptural legends, theories and beliefs, as the Holy Grail, the Trinity and Saints and condemn all sins committed by or in the name of the Church throughout history, such as the Crusades, the Mediaeval Inquisition, the Church’s involvement in warfare etc. As a next step, it must free itself from the bondage of Jewish customs and traditions. Death Brings Life
By Rick Kin
September, 15, 2011
Death comes in two ways. We get old and die physically and we die to our flesh during being alive. We get saved and have a new nature. We have a new driving force within us that causes us to desire the spiritual things over the natural things. Though this is a process, we must die to live. (more…)
Knowing The Unknowable God
By Rabon Byrd
If you were to ask any believer if they desired to know the Lord in a greater and deeper way, I would guarantee that all would answer in the affirmative. Therefore, I do not believe that lack of desire to know Christ is the leading reason for the evident lack of spiritual knowledge in the Church. Many will say that it is due to indifferent Christians who are not trying hard enough and not putting enough effort toward knowing the Lord. In my opinion, lack of desire to know Christ does not account for the lack of knowledge in the Body of Christ, but the means by which they endeavor to achieve such knowledge. (more…)
How To Change Your Life
Paul tells us in Ephesians that God will grant you according to His riches in glory, to be strengthened with might by His spirit in the inner man. Strength by the Spirit of God is the most desirable strength. It is not within you to develop this strength through strength training, working out or going to the gym. It is the strength of heart and spirit inside each of us, and it cannot be gained physically. It is a spiritual growth obtained through God. (more…)
Elements of Spiritual Growth: Making the Relationship The Focus
Posted in: Christian Living Tags: christian, Christianity, god, Jesus, Religion and Spirituality, spirit, spiritual
By Greg Baker
Taking your spirituality to the next level requires certain ingredients. Without these, we can’t achieve the level of spirituality that makes Christianity meaningful and profitable to both the Christian and the Kingdom of God. This element of spiritual growth depends on making the relationship you have with Jesus the focus. (more…)
1 Peter 1:13
By Don Costello
Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
1. “Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind”
a. gird [328 * anazonnymi] [Zodhiates: Occurs only in 1 Peter 1:13, where it is applied to the mind being held in constant prepraration. It is taken from the custom of the eastern nations who, when they had occasion to exert themselves (as in journeying, running, etc.), used to bind up their long flowing garments by a girdle or belt about their hips. [Vine: the Christian is to have his mental powers alert in expectation of Christ's coming.] [Bullinger: to gird up as with a belt.] (more…)
A Heart With A Mind Of Its Own
By Dale Linton
The heart is an amazing spiritual mechanism. We know this because God has one and we are created in His likeness. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit our heart may be led into purity, but under its own control it is extremely dangerous. Our creator hasn’t left us in the dark concerning what we must know about our heart. Lets see:
Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
This Verse Suggests The Following (more…)
“Seeing Others as More Important Then You”
“Seeing Others as More Important Then You”
By Bob Butler
“Seeing Others as More Important Then You”
When we see this verse what comes to mind? Is it easy to think this way or do you struggle with this? Why is it so easy for some of us to agree with this statement? Could it be as simple as having a low self-esteem? I believe it is so, at least in my case. (more…)
We are Crossing Over to the Lands of our Promise
Open the waters that stand in my way! Open the waters for me oh Lord, to cross over to the land of my promise. For my enemies are without mercy; my destruction was announced to the four corners of the earth. I am running away from the land that enslaved my dreams. The enemy is closing down on me; with intimidating horses and a speed that I can’t even parallel; I can feel the desperation with every breath I take. I see my enemies raising their swords as they thirst for the blood of my head. Open the waters that stand in my way! Open the waters for me Lord, to cross over to the land of my promise; to the place of possibilities, to my taking over. (more…)
Understanding Man’s Relationship With God
By Ngozi Nwoke
“What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of (earthborn) man that You care for him”, Psalm 8:4. (AMP) God’s relationship with man is very important to Him. Man’s daily walk is a reflection of his relationship with God, whether good or bad. An understanding of God’s view of this connection will affect man’s way of life.
God instituted this relationship with man. He made man in His own likeness. (Gen 1:27). Man was created to be like God, think, speak and act like Him. Man was to have total dominion on earth while God rules in heaven. (Psalm 115:16) Also, He created man to fellowship with him. Gen 3:8 makes us to understand that God would come and fellowship with Adam in the garden in the cool of the day. (more…)
No More I
No More I
Romans 7:14-21 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate that I do. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more that I do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. (more…)
Seek Ye First
By Rick King
? Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you
Mathew 6: 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
? Key is added. when we seek first Him and His will, He already knows what we have need of and will add all things in His way and time.flesh wants thingsGod says supplies our needs. If we can learn that our true life is in His presence alone, we can walk in victory no matter what we have or don’t have. (more…)
Serving leadership
Serving leadership
By beatrice ofwona
The church has a lot of resources but no leadership to help manage it. God is constantly looking for leaders whom He can use in his Kingdom, unfortunately many people shy away from or compromise on true leadership. 1Timothy 3 gives the specifications for an overseer and even tells us that it is noble to desire to be this person. It is alright to aspire for leadership but true leadership must come with an integration of person, practice and principles.
If you are bequeathed with a lot of talents yet continue to use them unwisely, you will soon be poor. Leadership is about spiritual character which radiates to others and positively influences them. (more…)
Freedom from the Chains of Un-Forgiveness
“Five Basic Principles of Biblical Forgiveness”
Recently, I have engaged in a study about forgiveness. I was certain that I knew all the basics that I needed to know. Many times we hear so much about a topic that we, without knowing, turn our listening off and move on to the next issue. However, as I studied further, I found some very interesting and practical facts about forgiveness. (more…)
The Pursuit of Happiness
By Greg Baker
If someone were to ask me what I thought the single most important factor was to gain happiness, I would have to say that it was purpose or vision.
Proverbs 29:18 – Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
You can have a lot of money, be popular, have decent relationships, possess power, have friends, even have a walk with God and find yourself unhappy. The reason for that, is that none of these things have full value until you have purpose behind them. (more…)
