The Story of a Beautiful Life

Hello all, I hope this note finds you healthy, happy and hungry for more of all the good that life can be!  I found an old book and instantly became enthralled by it.

If you are like me, you’ll understand being fascinated by finding an old book, opening it up and immediately reading it so I can absorb the lessons and history locked up in it’s pages.  Reading the author’s point of view regarding the adventure being written about.

Whether we realize it or not, reading the bible or other books about the bible can (or should) be viewed in this way.  When we read, or re-read something we can sometimes gain a whole new perspective into what we thought we knew.

I’ll begin writing regularly to talk about this book I found (The Story of a Beautiful Life) and I will include passages of it here.  The book was written in the late 1800’s by the Arch Deacon of Westminster and Minister to the Queen of England.  To me, it is a fascinating look into the history of the Story of Jesus and explains a few things which are quite often glossed over or buried in the minutia…but really should be learned or at least offered to all of us.

And, the book includes pictures of several famous Christian paintings, which I will scan in and post along with the passages. The copy I have was printed in 1890 and if there is enough interest, we’ll put together a PDF copy of it so you can have one also.  Heck, if enough folks say something, we might even create a new hardcover edition…but I’m getting ahead of myself here.  I’m sure you’ll want to read about it and parts of it before making a decision like that.  So, starting tomorrow, I’ll put little bits on here for you to read and discuss and we’ll see where things go from there.

Thanks for stopping by today and remember, we’ll start tomorrow on The Story of a Beautiful Life!

Mary Anne
