1 Corinthians 3 v 16. Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst.

This is going to be tricky to explain but here goes. Notice when you are filled with anger, jealousy, selfishness of all kinds you do not feel good inside, because that is not the Spirit of God inside of you. To me it is like choosing what kind of company you want to keep. It is basically between love and hate. If you are filled with evil you are in bad company, but if you choose what is holy and good you are keeping beautiful company within yourself. To be in a state of evil all the time there is no way you are going to feel peaceful or like yourself.

If you choose the things of God such as love, kindness, generosity, acceptance of others etc. then you will experience a beautiful spirit inside of you and you are going to like yourself and other people will like you too. Now if you are suffering from a mental illness like bipolar disorder, it is your sickness that is making you depressed not you. Inserting your faith in the love of Jesus and try to pray regularly will help you deal with illness. You are not alone in your illness, Jesus is in you, suffering with you and He can give you the knowledge and courage to find ways how to deal with it if you keep asking Him. If we live as Jesus tells us to we will be filled with the Holy Spirit and He gives us peace, strength, courage etc. even in hard times.

2 Timothy 1 v 17. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

So when we are filled with God’s Spirit we put on the nature of Jesus accordingly to how much room you have allowed the Spirit of God to dwell in you. The more closely we walk with Jesus the more we will be like Him. We will have His nature in us such as peace, mercy, compassion, love, joy, courage, wisdom humility and much more. To be one with Jesus is the most prized way to be. But before this happens there is a lot of work to be done. God allows sometimes for the devil to test you like he tested Job in the bible, so that you can learn to die to selfishness and therefore be reborn and become Christ like.

The more we die to our selfish nature, the more beautiful you will feel inside. And your prayers and deeds will be greatly be blessed by God, because it will be God’s Spirit working through you.

I believe that Christian don’t often think just how powerful their prayers can be, so they pray for small things and only for people they know. I believe in praying big because I know God wants to do great things through us.
